All the team at The Gemini Stud are delighted to confirm that they have acquired the full sister to the CCI5* Eventer Woodstock Bennett. Woodstock Bennett was 8th at Pau last year, has won 2 of his 17 International starts including a CCI3*-L in the USA and was selected for the World Equestrian Games in 2018.

Ridden by Australian Event Rider Ryan Wood, Woodstock Bennett is based in the USA but was actually bred in Ireland. He is by Shannondale Sarco St Ghyvan who is currently the number 14 sire of Eventers in the world.   Shannondale Sarco St Ghyvan is the sire of multiple Advanced Event horses including Tom Jacksons Capel Hollows Drift, Shannondale Sarco St Ghyvan is also the sire of Tom Jackson’s ride Capels Hollow Drift who was 11th at Burgham CCI4*-S in 2019 and 2nd at the Le Lion D’Angers World Young Horse Championships 2018. Other Advanced Eventing progeny of Shannondale Sarco St Ghyvan include Sam Ecroyd’s Tullaher Sunrise and Alex Bragg’s Shannondale Percy.

Ros Canter has a very exciting youngster by Shannondale Sarco St Ghyvan in the mare Shannondale Nadia who was 2nd in the Burghley Young Event Horse Final and was also a winner of the Osberton 7 year old Young Horse Championships (CCI2*-L) last season.

Woodstock Bennett’s sister was like him also bred in Ireland and it is no surprise given her exceptional confomation that she pursued a career in the Show Ring prior to coming to the Gemini Stud. She had numerous wins at County level and qualified for the Royal International Horse Show on a number of occasions.

If you would like to chat to us about any future foals from Woodstock Bennett’s full sister then please don’t hesitate to contact Georgie Belton at The Gemini Stud.

Horse & Hound sings the praise of Classic Opera’s daughter Nessum Dorma

Much to everyone’s delight at The Gemini Stud, Horse and Hound magazine’s 12th September coverage of the Equifest Show at Peterborough made a feature of Classic Opera’s yearling filly daughter Nessum Dorma.  The bay filly who is owned and bred by Gavin Isherwood out of the mare Designer Scamp (ex Kilvington Scoundrel) won her class and then went on to take The Championship in the evening performance.

Gavin’s stunning filly has only been shown twice in the 2019 season and won and went Champion on both occasions in 2019.

Well done Gavin and Nessum Dorma.

Everyone at The Gemini Stud wants to say an enormous “Thank You” to all of our mare owners, customers and producers for making the 2019 Showing Season such a fabulous one for The Gemini Stud stallion Classic Opera.  He has had a phenomenal season siring 13 winners at County Level in 2019 alone;  in classes ranging from Hunters In Hand, to Hacks and Sports Horses.  The wins were for Classic Opera’s progeny ranging from foals to yearlings.

Thank you to everyone for making this record breaking season happen for such a young stallion, as Classic Opera is still only 7 year old.
